Your first payment
What you need, what to check, and what happens when you confirm a payment.
The easiest way to understand Reway is to follow a payment link. The recipient sets the receiving details, and you choose a supported asset from your wallet to fund the payment.
Before you begin
Have a payment link from the intended recipient, a compatible wallet, and enough of a supported asset to cover the payment and its costs. A route may also require a native gas token. Check the payment quote before assuming network fees are covered.
If you are collecting the payment, start with creating a link instead.
Make the payment
-
Open and check the link. Confirm who you are paying, the amount requested, and the reason for the payment. If the details differ from what you agreed, ask the recipient before continuing.
-
Connect your wallet. Use the wallet connection options offered by the app. Make sure the connected account is the one that holds the asset you want to spend.
-
Choose your payment asset. Select an available token and source network. These can differ from the token and network the recipient selected.
-
Review the quote. Check what you will spend, what the recipient is expected to receive, the destination network, the estimated costs, and the estimated time. Open route details if you want more information.
-
Authorize through your wallet. Review each request your wallet presents. A route can require more than one authorization, such as a token approval followed by a transaction.
-
Check the final status. Follow the payment until its completion is confirmed. Keep the payment reference and any transaction hashes if you need to look it up later.
Read the confirmation carefully
| Detail | What to check |
|---|---|
| Recipient | You recognize the person or business and their receiving details. |
| You pay | The asset, source network, and amount match what you intend to spend. |
| They receive | The output asset, destination network, and quoted amount match the payment. |
| Fees | You understand the total cost and any separate gas requirement. |
| Estimated time | This is an estimate for the route, not a completion deadline. |
If something interrupts the payment
Start by checking payment activity. If a transaction was already submitted, confirm its status before starting another payment. This helps avoid paying twice when the first payment is still processing.
For an unavailable route, a rejected wallet request, or a pending payment, follow the checks in troubleshooting.
