Security and control
Understand wallet authorization, non-custodial payments, and public transaction records.
Reway is designed around non-custodial payments. You authorize payment actions through your wallet or supported account system, while Reway coordinates the payment and its route.
What non-custodial means
The product is not intended to maintain a centralized customer balance under Reway's long-term control. Your wallet remains central to authorizing the movement of your funds.
That does not remove the need to understand the transaction you sign. A payment route still interacts with blockchain networks and execution infrastructure.
Review each authorization
Check the destination, token, amount, and permissions presented by your wallet. If a request does not match the payment you intended, stop and review it before signing.
A token approval can grant permission to use tokens. A transaction can submit an action to the network. Read the wallet's explanation rather than treating every prompt as a routine connection step.
Check who you are paying
Use a payment link from the recipient you intend to pay. Compare the recipient information, receiving network, amount, and description with your agreement.
If someone changes the payment details, verify the change through a contact method you already trust. A familiar display name alone does not establish that a destination is correct.
Public transaction information
Non-custodial and private describe different things. Public blockchains can expose addresses, payment amounts, and transaction history even when you control your own wallet.
Private payments are a research direction for Reway. The privacy architecture still needs validation before it can be offered as a production payment flow.
Read the roadmap for how privacy fits into future work.
When you need help
Keep your payment reference, public transaction hashes, network names, and the error message. These details can help someone understand what happened.
Never share a recovery phrase, private key, or unrestricted account access as part of payment support. The troubleshooting guide lists the checks you can make first.
